Ford-girl ◊ 2009-03-16 16:23	They're black Tahoes. They're too short to be Suburbans. But I enjoyed watching this scene immensely. The Crown Vic was walking all over those SUVs. It was sweet. But anyways, i was gonna ask you ford_guy, how can you tell it's a 2000? They ran that body style from 1998-now. I'm not trying to be rude, I just want to know how you an distinguish a certain year from others. I can't tell so I'm wondering how you do it. I was assuming it was a 2007. But it's not just a Crown Victoria, it's a P71. or CVPI. And noticed it does not have the honeycomb grille and it deserves 5 stars 'cause it's used by a main character for a long time. The only time it stopped being used was when they had to ditch it because "the government" knew the car too well. But that was near the end so....but anyways, have a good day ford_guy and Neptune!
Ford_Guy ◊ 2009-03-16 22:55	Those are definitely Avalanches: /vehicle_204918-Chevrolet-Avalanche-2007.html Anyhow, for the 2000 model year it's easy as it was the only year that these Crown Victorias had both black trim on the bumpers and that the strip under the tailights/on the trunk was black. And there's no concrete way of telling whether it's a P71 or not.

The civilian ones have chrome grilles and either chrome or nothing between the license plate and taillights. That's how you can tell other than the VIN number. And Avalanches with toppers then? They'll simply have a CROWN VICTORIA badge instead of the POLICE INTERCEPTOR badge in the rear, and are mostly meant for police departments to use as unmarked cars. So there is a slight possibility that it isn't a [P71].

They look weird.... All Non Civilian Crown Vics including the P70 Long Wheelbase Taxi and the P71 CVPI have the Black Honeycomb Grille.

digitalrailroader ◊ 2009-08-31 00:09	but a surefire way to tell a P71 from others, is by the Exhaust system. P71s come with a high Performance dual Exhaust system. civilian vics and the P70 Taxi have single Exhaust. you can also pick a 2005 Vic out of a Lineup because it was the ONLY Year where Ford had an external whip antenna instead of the antenna intergrated into the rear defroster. -- Last edit: 2009-09-02 01:40:27
