The origin of farthing cab comes from really cheap taxi services from England. Hence, the name. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farthing_(British_coin) http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A4%D0%B0%D1%80%D1%82%D0%B8%D0%BD%D0%B3 |

All taxi fares were regulated the same in London so the type of cab didn't make any difference. The Beardmore Hyper taxi was substantially smaller and lighter than its predecessors and had a reputation for quickness and manoeuvrability so was nicknamed the Farthing Cab. The farthing was a really small coin in size as well as value. |
