Would have been blown up if it weren't for kids being in the car. |

The definition of FOUR STARS is "Vehicle used a lot by a main character or that has an important role" This appearance of the DS is pivotal in the film and extensive, so it should have four stars. How the filmmakers selected a 1972 Citroen as typical transport for a resident of New York City in 1982 remains unclear, but it was within the realm of possibility. |

The DS plays a major role in 'Scarface' (1983}, where the character played by Al Pacino refuses to ignite a car bomb attached to a DS traversing New York City en route to the United Nations. This refusal sets in motion a chain of events that lead to his death. |

"important role" means "featured a lot" rather than a role that has some importance for the movie. |

How come this model does not have the headlights cover? The car looks more beautiful with the cover. -- Last edit: 2009-03-03 18:02:39 |

Because back then it was not allowed on cars in the USA to have the headlights covered with extra glass. Not very nice, indeed. |

Was the DS sold in Britain with the same lamps, too (for RHD use for sure)? I have some British car-magazines from the early 70ies in my collection, where these US-style-lamps were shown in the advertises, too. Btw.: same with the NSU RO 80. The first US-lamps, I've seen on a RO 80, was in New Zealand, also as RHD. |
