| 1979 Camaro. This is one of only 12 specially made Camaros that were made for the California Highway Patrol to test out. Over time, the cars were found to have had many problems, and this paved the way for the CHP to have dropped the Camaro as a patrol car and to have asked Ford for a special police vehicle, which led to the birth of the SSP (Special Service Package) Mustang in 1982. |
