Boudu (déjà un peu déprimé)...ouvre la porte au conducteur (qui le "remercie mon brave") et dans un élan d'une effrontée générosité lui donne 3 sous !... c'est le monde à l' envers! |

The owner of this car could have given more than three cents to Boudu because he drives a Chrysler Imperial Roadster , 4 passenger ( two in dickey )from 1926 ( series E-80).These Imperials had the characteristic fluted hood like Vauxhall and Minerva( Vauxhall UK took Chrysler to court for copying them but did not win) and Chrysler's two wings radiator cap well visible on the large picture. This unit seems to have the accessory wire wheels.A similar car was used as the pace car in the Indianapolis race of ' 26.This picture also confirms that Chrysler were already well established in France in the later twenties. |

Very interesting info pilou. Confirmation that Ford was not the only american brand on the french market at this time. About the scene, ... there is a funny situation, because in fact ,Boudu gives all his money (few cents) to the rich man who doesn't understand why?... ... but I won't explain, because if I do I could be charged to tell the story -- Last edit: 2006-01-30 19:56:04 |
