In retrospect, the first 6,000 were cargo models built under a quartermaster contract. Following that group were the GTBA (Navy Cargo) GTBS (Navy Bomb Service with single rear wheels), GTBC (Navy Bomb Service with dual rear wheels), and GTBB (Navy with Marquette Service Wrecker (50) and a prototype GTBD with a swinging Boom type wrecker (1). Although some were used in the ETO, some were assigned in the Pacific theater of operations and some here in the USA.
