Driving past the Saab is a Toyota Tercel. Shall we give that its own page?

Pretty girl too! :)

Yeah, we deffo need a pretty girl page!

I do not think that a Tercel is rare enough (or has enough fans) to be listed. For the Saabs it is different. And it is visible a little less than the Saab (that is visible from two view angle, or at least two times, if I remember well)

Combi Coupe?????

I do not know in which countries this name was used, but it seems quite official for the 5-door hatchback.

I think it is an ackward name for a five door car...? I would rather suggest it for the Three door version of the 900...

There is one on Wikipedia's Saab 900 page, and this one: Link to "www.motorbase.com"

The Combi Coupé was introduced on the 1974 models of the 99, only three doors at the time. The five door version was released spring 1976. The name Combi Coupé was badged on the cars up til 1978 and disappeared with the introduction of the 900 for 1979.
The designation was also used for early Passat Hatchbacks in Sweden.

It disappeared in 1979?
The car in the picture and in the link Antoine provided looks newer than 1979, doesn't it?

Wasn't there a "900 Combi Coupé" ?

DAF555 SE

Oh yes, they were still called that. But the emblems disappeared from the cars when the 900 was introduced since there were no alternative bodies in that series.

At the time, 1979, there were no alternatives. The sedan didn´t appear until 1981 due to market demands. Not everybody liked the hatchback solution. The same happened with the VW Polo that became Derby as a sedan or Ford Escort/Orion, VW Passat/Santana in the aerly eighties.

I like these SAAB models too, even if i prefer the early 99.

Yes, it was available, I believe, before 1983 as 5 door as in Wagonback in USA market for the 900 series. That body style was dropped due to lack of sales.

A shot of wheel or door mounted mirror can narrow down the model year here

Could front side marker/sliver of headlamp identify the year?
