This Toyopet chases after Aki's Toyota 2000 GT, so she radios for help and along comes a helicopter with an electromagent, it lifts the pursuing off the ground and dumps it into the sea!

Tiger Tanaka: How's that for Japanese efficiency?
James Bond: Just a drop in the ocean.

Early Toyota Crown. Toyota's play important role in this Japanese oriented Bondfilm.

First: Yes. I guess engine-generator were in the cargo room, and pick the car by using the lift magnet.
Second: Kawasaki/Vertol KV-107II-1 Produced by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. under the License contract with Boeing/Vertol

Sorry, it's nov.1965 - nov.1966 Toyopet Crown Deluxe [MS41].
Emblem color indicates it's 6-cylinder MS41 model. Emblem of 4-cyl RS41 model was blue.

Well, consider how many new Chevrolets were destroyed in the Bond film "Live and Let Die". I think Goldfinger must have set the president when Mr. Solo is crushed at the scrapyard inside a "brand new" Lincoln Continental. Of course they switched out the new 1964 model depicted in all the driving scenes and used the similar-looking 1963 model with the engine removed. From what I have come across recently, director Guy Hamilton hated the typical big American car, and enjoyed destroying them, preferably in an embarassing way....hence all the absurd automotive destruction when he returned to direct "Diamonds are Forver" and "Live and Let Die". Although Ford has maintained a good relationship with the Bond series by supplying vehicles off and on since Goldfinger, "Live and Let Die" was not only the first but the LAST time that Chevrolet / General Motors supplied cars to a Bond film. But as someone on the LALD entry suggested, the cars used and totalled were most likely preproduction or press cars that would not be resold.

Regarding the film discussion here of "You Only Live Twice", Toyota bent over backwards to get into this film and supply vehicles. I recall an article in "Classic and Sportscar" about the 2000GT models built specifically for use in the film, and Toyota was competing with General Motors who were anxious to get the soon-to-be-released 1967 Chevrolet Camaro into the starring car role. But Toyota met the filmmakers' needs by making the two custom convertible versions. Throwing in a 1966 Crown for a burial at sea was probably another enticement by Toyota to producers.

Might have been a pre-production/development car which Toyota would otherwise have scrapped - sometimes these get offered to film makers to destroy onscreen instead.
