Introduced as Scammell Mechanical Horse three-ton in June 1933 the six ton version in production by 1934. It was referred to as being very popular by November 1935. The prototype was developed as both 2-ton and 4-ton therefore its likely the 6-ton production model was made within a few months of the June 1933 introduction. The cab was identical between 3 and 6-ton only the wheelbase and behind the cab engine size being larger on the 6-ton. 1933 Mechanical Horse MH3 3-Ton 8ft w/base 1125cc 10hp (RAC) 1934 Mechanical Horse MH6 6-Ton 9ft 3in w/base 2043cc 15hp (RAC) From Scammell manual for the Mechanical Horse & Trivan. http://www.commercialmotor.com/big-lorry-blog/brian-httpwwwroadtransportcomb -- Last edit: 2014-07-27 20:53:09 |
