When did 1945 m/y production start? |

These were produced continuously from 1938-1957. Unlike the American and Canadian market, which infrastrucutre was affected far less than that of Britain due to constant German bombing, the War Ministry permitted production of models deemed necessary for the civilian market. Utility vehicles such as the E83W were as such kept in production during the war, so it's not uncommon to find these vehicles with production year listed as 1943, 1944 and 1945 - something you would not see on an American car. |

Model year? Nothing so frivolous or resource wasting as model years. Introduced 1938 as said previously. First change, position of light switch and ignition switch, smaller headlamps - 1942 Second change, shape of rear wing, winding windows deleted, accelerator pedal moved from centre to right of brake - 1946 Third change, handbrake moved from floor to under dash - 1947 Fourth change, twin rear lamps fitted - Sept. 1954 Discontinued Sept 1957 after 188,577 of all types built. Change of badging from “Fordson” to “Thames” mid 1948. -- Last edit: 2024-11-19 12:58:07 |
