Delving into Transcontinental info wiki says "manufactured between 1975 and 1984 by Ford Europe in the Netherlands and Britain. A total of 8735 units were produced, 8231 in Amsterdam and another 504 at the Foden VAP in Sandbach, Cheshire" On another Transcontinental page, I rediscovered this from 2013 discussion, based on a useful but now vanished link. Amsterdam stopped late 81 as far as I can tell, but

dsl wrote ".... there were still unbuilt orders and Ford found an agreement with Sandbach Engineering (Foden Trucks) to continue the Transcontinental assembly in Sandbach (Cheshire UK). Production of UK built Transcontinentals started from March 1982. Until late 1983 another 504 Transcontinentals were assembled."

So this one is too early for UK assembly. About half of our Transcontinental sightings are UK examples, but none are late enough for Sandbach, so the search for a Foden-build continues ...
