You beat me to it Pilou. The word you were looking for was 'companion' car for Oldsmobile. I presume the 1929 and 1930 models looked the same? |

For the benefit of anyone else looking at this the Viking was Olds attempt to go upmarket. It was a V8 on a 125 inch wheelbase, available in three body styles - conv coupe, sedan and close coupled sedan. Priced at about $1700 (vs about $1000 for a regular Olds) it was the wrong car at the wrong time (like the Edsel in the 1950s) and was killed by the Great Depression. |
