While the patent plate on the body (located behind the right front seat) reads Willys Overland, in 1953, Willys merged with Kaiser Motors (the Kaiser of aluminum and Liberty ship fame) and was known as Kaiser Jeep. In 1971 the firm was sold to American Motors...which was bought by Chrysler in the 1980s. |
