NOT M38. This is a WWII issue Willys or Ford with a later style windshield from a CJ3A or M38 (the same style). The features of the WWII jeep are the full floater rear axle, grab handles at the rear and side, combat rims, no pioneer tool slots on the pass side (m38 style). A clearer picture should show a glove box where the CJ2a would have none. WWII jeep Willys or Ford. The yellow jeep is an M38. /vehicle_18909-Ford-F-Series.html -- Last edit: 2006-10-23 04:30:19 |

This is NOT an M38! Take away the windshield (which could be CJ3A) and there is not one feature of an M38! MB or GPW. |

Not 1941...or any WWII Jeep. Postwar civilian model. I believe that scene was filmed in the UK, so itwas not a active duty Army M38A1 as seen in the real Ft. Knox scenes. |

@14stulz: The windshield style in the above picture could mislead one into thinking the Jeep was a civilian CJ3A. However ever other aspect of a WWII jeep is present and accurate. The presence of a full "glove box" in the above photo defines it as an MB/GPW and rules out all flat hood civilian models. Due to Jeep popularity and interchangeability of parts over a wide span of years, it is often difficult to identify the models. This one is a WWII jeep. |
