This is either a Custom Suburban or a 7-passenger Custom, both were produced on a 139 1/2 inch wheelbase. According to http://www.cadvision.com/blanchas/ID-Cars/DesotoModels.html Model series number S-11. |

Although the roof rack contour is the one of the Custom Suburban models there is no wood lattice base visible here under the luggage. I go for a 1946-1947 DeSoto 7 passenger Custom .DeSoto Custom Suburbans were always finished in 2 colors and were sold to private customers, hotels and airport transporters , not to conventionel taxi fleets for which they would have been quite expensive ( from $2283 in 1947 to $ 2651 in 1948) |
