Yes this is an E39 540i. The rear badge is a give away, but I can tell just by the wheels (early E39 540's used these multi-fin/spoke wheels). The car is a `97-`00. It is driven quite aggressively at the end of the movie. Could have been more dramatic. No sounds of the V-8 howling, no tires spinning (DSC on I guess), a few slides/overteer stunts, and a cool reverse spin. No special interior or exterior shots (no close-ups). This car was by no means the center of attention - the Shelby was. The car was used in one minor scene in the middle of the movie (when the cop switches driving the Cadilac for the Bimmer, and pulls up at the warehouse to check things out), and the final main chase scene. Overall not too impressive, but not bad - very little focus on this E39. Maybe 5 min of total footage.

It still only deserves 3 stars, as the Shelby also deserves only 4, not 5.

The chase is long enough for 4 stars, and the car was also used in other scenes.
The Shelby is known and popular enough to have 5 stars. In addition of that, it has a key role in the movie story. If that one does not justify the 5 stars, which one does?

I don't think so. The California DMV doesn't use I, O, or Q in the first or third place of the three-letter combination.
