I believe this is the same car seen in "Wings of Eagles" and "Summer Magic", owned at the time by Pacific Auto Rentals, a leading supplier of film vehicles in Hollywood.
A couple of years later, it was painted white for "The Great White Hope". The following year it retained its new white finish for the TV film "Powderkeg", which was the pilot film for the 1971 TV series "Bearcats!" The car was then loaned to car customizer and film car builder George Barris to use as a template for the two replicas used in that series. (Just to be clear...those Barris cars were made of metal, not fiberglass, so Barris did not use this car as a mold).

Sometime in the 1980s, a well-known California car collector purchased the car (he told me that there was some confusion between this car and the Barris replicas, so he got this car at a somewhat favorable price). The car was repainted black with red whire wheels and is still in his estate's collection.

The Bearcat rates one star in this role...just used in the background as part of a larger joke.

Was this 1:28 'Send A Boy To College'?? Haney tries to sell Oliver a College Kit when he learns that Oliver and Lisa are sending Eb to Vet College.

I don't remember seeing it in 1.28 and I specifically thought I might so I looked for it.

It really should be as it seems Haney is holding the Eliot Ness flask mentioned in reviews of this episode.

Well I'll be doggone, I'm watching that episode again and there it is! It will be resubmitted before the end of the night.

I disagree. Mr. Haney drives up in it, honks its horn, parks it, talks about it, and at the end of the scene drives away in it. The camera deliberately shows it off well. It gets about six minutes of screen time and clearly did more than just sit in the background. Two stars.
