'GXD 415' registration not found as an MG.

1939 MB TB. An educated guess as it looks like a postwar TC.

According to the May 2006 issue of Totally TT (p9 of pdf from Link to "tregister.org" ) this is a TA. Plate is a wartime London issue March-Aug 43, which is surprising??

Not really; they're fake plates. Font is wrong.

That is certainly not a TA. That car is definitely an MG TC. Two things give the car away. First are the wheels, TC for sure. TC wheels have a less backspacing causing the knock offs to "tuck in". The TA wheel had more backspacing causing the knock off to protrude more. The second thing about the wheel is that the TC spokes were shorter and laced to the center of the rim whereas the TA wheel had longer spokes and laced to the outside. The next dead giveaway are the running boards. It was only the TC, not TA or TB that had 2 strips instead of 3 on the running boards. The fog lamp is a Lucas SFT 462 which wasn't used until Feb. 1948 replacing the prewar Lucas FT 27 lamp. Tail lamps are also wrong for a TA. The TA used Lucas ST 38 "Pork Pie" whereas the TC used Lucas ST 51 "D Lamps" which are found here. TA front wings also dipped down on the outside of the scallop as opposed to the TC which remained flat. The reserve fuel valve (TA and TB) is missing from the dash and instead has the low fuel light which the TC had.

If I had to put money on it, I'd say this is definitely a 1948 MG TC.

OK I'm convinced.
