BMW E30 325i drove by Charlie Sheen |

Very minor use of this silver E30. I believe it is a coupe. It's hard to tell if it's a 325, 325es, or a 325is. It sounds like a 6-cylinder which all of these models use (could be false sound dubbing of other car - so it could even be a 318i). This car is only used in one minor scene. Not worth it. Very few shots of car. No rear shots, 1 side/front shot, and brief interior shot. (if a picture was supplied, I'd be able to tell) -- Last edit: 2006-04-12 21:21:41 |

Which scene do you see the exterior of the BMW? |
|

There is only one shot of this BMW I can recall for sure. It's in a scene about 70% through the movie. It is an interior shot of an E30 coupe. Charlie Sheen is very upset and driving the car aggressively. Maybe there wasn't an exterior shot - I thought there was. The interior shot lasts about 4 sec. max. On another note, an E28 appears in the background when Charlie Sheen frist pulls up to Michael Douglas' House. (Sheen originally drives a red Subaru Hatchback in the begining of film) |

But how did you know it was silver? |

I honestly don't know. I seem to recall the interior was a light beige or gray cloth. I haven't seen the film all the way through since 1997. I do own a VHS copy of it, I'll look at it sometime. Do you have the film? |

It's in my DVD drive right now, these picture are screen capture directly from it. But as to this BMW, I don't think you ever see the outside of the car, so maybe it should be taken off. |

Since you do have the movie, as said earlier, about 70% through the movie (maybe it's 60-90%), I am ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN A BMW E30 IS USED. There's a good chance no exterior shot exists. But a descent interior shot is used of an E30 Coupe. It's a side shot of Sheen driving (taking a corner aggresively, and flooring the throttle). 4 seconds max. |

Yep, that's the shot. I thought it was a wider shot, guess not. As crazy as it sounds I can identify most cars (especially BMW's) just by the interior alone - sometimes just the headrest identifies what car it is. |

My dad once had an early 80s 5-series and it had the same fan vents as this does. |

I OWN AN 80's 5-SERIES. An E28, 1984 533i (limited production) to be exact. And the vents are NOT the same. The E30 (1983-1991) had these later rounded vents, which the E32 7-series (`87-`94), and the E34 5-series (`88-`95) all shared as well. The E28 5-series (`82-`88) has rectangular/square flat vents - not curved or rounded-off like these other models mentioned. |

Notice the "break-in" sticker on the top left corner of the windshield (mine used to have that on the original windshield as well). -- Last edit: 2006-11-06 20:33:08 |

Sorry, I meant I thought they seemed similar, my dad sold his BMW over ten years ago anyway so I can't really remember too well. He had a 1982 520i. |

Since there's no way for sure of knowing which one it is, it should just be listed as a 3-Series. |

Regarding Charlie Sheen's mystery BMW: I've done some more research. The car in this photo has a 4-spoke steering wheel (I know your wondering how I can tell - well I can tell just by the center-portion, it's the same design as the 4-spoke mid-80's wheel). The 4-spoke wheel was used on the `84-`85 318i, and `86-`87 325. These are the only 2-door E30 models that fit this criteria and were availbale when Wallstreet was made, 1987. (`84-`87 E30 with 3-spoke steering wheel: `84-`87 325e, `86-`87 325es, and the `87 325i and 325is) |

The thing is how can you tell whether it is a coupe or sedan? Although the character might be more likely to choose a coupe, he's a yuppie with no wife and kids. |

You have a good point G-Mann. From this photo it is impossible to tell if it's a 2 or 4-door. In the back of my mind, I'm convinced it's a 2-door. Is there any other picture that can reveal any more info.? One of these days I'll watch this scene again. (Sheen also drives this BMW up to Gordon's house - although only interior shots are used) |
