This is Le Mans 1964. # 34 is an Abarth-Simca 2000 GT; # 46 is an Alpine M64; # 47 is an Alpine M63 (: http://www.experiencelemans.com/en-us/dept_173.html )

Why is this still listed as 'unknown'?

I do not know, DynaMike is admin, he could rename it... maybe he was not sure for which car it was? #34 I guess?

Not an Abarth Simca, but Alpine M64 #1709 driven by: Henri Grandsire(F)/Philippe Vidal(F) - did not finish. Race no is 54 (not 34 which was a Porsche 904 GTS). Race details at http://www.racingsportscars.com/photo/Le_Mans-1964-06-22.html which confirm #46 and #47 as also Alpine M64 (which is helpful as they look identical to #54 in photo above).
