It's a Mini "Shorty" - generic name for stupid things people do to innocent Minis. Lots of home-made examples out there, no recognised converters as far as I can tell. Googling pics throws up lots of them, but I can't find this one. All I can say about it is 1976+ rear lights - everything else is up in the air. But buried in the mountain of these miserable baby Frankensteins, I found one which raised a chuckle - a Shorty Mini van ![]() Its story is interesting - it was built by Geoff Laban who became a nearly famous car designer for Jaguar, Reliant, LTI, FF Developments and designed a special 200 mph Bentley for the Sultan of Brunei. He built this in the early 60s when he started his career with an apprenticeship at Jaguar as a project to get his ticket. |
