Are we going to have to write to the Chicago Fire Department about this? |

already listed here, from the movie Backdraft: /vehicle_24421-Ward-LaFrance-Pumper-1970.html the correct listing for it would be 1970 Ward LaFrance Ambassador. This truck looks to have heavy modifications to almost all the equipment including a bigger air intake (grille), higher mounted rectangular (instead of round) headlamps, and the back end of the cab has been enclosed when it originally would have been open. The light bars (not visible here but they are in the Backdraft picture) were a type used by another fire engine company, E-One, in the late 80s/early 90s, so i'm gonna bet that E-One is the company that made the modifications to this truck. for comparison, a "stock" Ward-LaFrance looked like this: http://www.wellinvolved.com/station4_files/E4E.jpg the truck in the picture above was apparently used in the movie Outside Providence but no one listed it here :\ -- Last edit: 2008-07-18 04:22:39 |
