Bond chases after General Ourumov (who has taken Natalya hostage) in this tank, creating much mayhem and destruction in St. Petersburg. ![]() After Ourumov gets away on the armoured missle train, Bond parks the tank on the railway track and the train crashes into it, destroying the tank and derailing the train. -- Last edit: 2012-01-23 23:13:12 (G-MANN) |

If you must, then "Zavod imeni V.O. Malysheva", or in English: Malyshev Plant. |

The tank parked on the tracks is a replica made from a Saracne APC. Plus Film Services needed to make this because the Russians didn't want them driving a real T-55 through the streets. Most of the Tank Driving scenes using the Real Tank was done on a film set. You can see the flimsy body popping apart in the picture above as it is hit by the train in the last picture above. |

as Bond jumps into the car park through the window where the tanks are parked, you can clearly see that most of the parked "T55" tanks are actually ex British Chieftain Tanks with bits added by the props dept to make them look like T55s!. |

It seems to me, that it is older T-54 - on a top view there is probably visible a ventilator dome on a turret, behind a gun (compare /vehicle_165576-Malyshev-T-54.html ) |
