marklandynut ◊ 2010-06-20 00:04	More than that, its a real Military Series 2A or Rover 8 as they were called by the military. The lack of a fuel filler cap means it has twin fuel tanks with under seat fillers, and the heavy front grille pushed forward of the panel means its an early 24V FFW (fitted for wireless) version. This would have been built between 1962 and 1966, but probably closer to '62. the pushed forward grille protects the rectifier for the 40 amp 24 volt generator. By 1967 the generators were producing 70 amps and had the rectifier built in, and so had standard front grilles instead of these special ones.
