Yo yo @dsl, I'd love to ID, but various coachbuilders did that style seen above. I'm strongly leaning towards Thomas Startin, but can't fully rule out Woodall Nicholson and Simpson & Slater. |

Can't read the plate but may be something like 808 MHH, but only the 0 is clear enough to use. Tried a few combos but nothing - not really surprising given the plate witchcraft infecting this series. Might be SC3 for smaller over-riders. Googling RR SC Hearses doesn't produce an all-silver one, and most look higher roofs and bigger side windows. Frustrating 2004 auction listing for "1964 ROLLS-ROYCE SILVER CLOUD III HEARSE BY HEALEY BROTHERS, REGISTRATION BPU 1B, CHASSIS SFU769" as pictures have gone and no colour listed. Never heard of Healey Brothers (Nuneaton), but they were apparently "specialists in such conversions". No idea if this is a helpful lead, but the auction was in Harrogate (North Yorks) so car might have been reasonably local during HB filming. |

Healey Brothers of Irthlingborough were in business to supply new, refurbished and secondhand spares for Rolls-Royce and Bentley cars. I used to visit them for parts when necessary, it being most fortunate that I had to attend monthly progress meetings at a firm near them. Don’t ask who or why, I can’t tell you. I don’t know if there is a connection but it would seem odd if not. |

^ Good job, but unfortunately the 1964 SC III by Healey Brothers isn't the one: ![]() |

Does anybody know the make and model of the limousine in front of the hearse?![]() More views at www.youtube.com/watch?v=oH3yf_Cp0Tg#t=53 or better quality from c.55 seconds at www.itv.com/watch/heartbeat/Ya0757/Ya0757a0012 -- Last edit: 2023-09-24 23:21:57 |

^ again useful but doesn't solve everything. The hearse does have SC3 smaller over-riders, and its plate looks like a combo in 101 BAB format, but still only the 0 is clear. The one in front is RR or Bentley S/SC Standard Steel Saloon of some description - I think small over-riders so S3 or Silver Cloud III respectively with RR more likely for a funeral firm's car. It's not the grey/silver Bentley S1/S2 seen elsewhere in series 2 eps which has a pale bootlid, while this is the darker colour. This is all best guess rather than solid |

I was going to look, but a) it appears not to be functional and said “go to ITV-X” whatever that is, and b) I won’t do that. |
