Quality control at Chrysler in the early eighties was so bad, that some of these fleetcars were turned loose with both Plymouth and Dodge badging on the same car!! Dodge Fury, and Plymouth Diplomat.... |

Was extremely popular with Law enforcement though. NYPD even kept a huge inventory of bodyparts for these vehicles. Not very fast but very reliable engines/transmissions. |

The aftermarket wheels on the Dodge ambulance seem a bit odd to me. |

I was working for the US Army ordnance when these cars were new. Callahan is right, build quality was atrocious. One of ours had the 'Plymouth' badge mounted upside down! |

Plymouth upside down.. That's really bad. Hopefully only badging was mounted upside down! |

Actually it's a 1982-89 model because it has the Chrysler Pentastar logo on the trunk which 1980's don't. |

Are you sure its a dodge? Chrysler Corp. puts the pentagon logo on all of there eighties cars. it could be a Diplomat, 5th Avenue or a Carrevelle |

"DODGE" at the left of Chrysler Penta Star, and right side is "Diplomat" |

But are you really sure? |

Caravelle was the name for these cars built in Canada. In Europe these were LeBarons. |

See "Short Time" for a Caravelle. |

I think this is an 1986 you can see the third brake light and also in the Dodge Ram (Ambulance) photo the diplomat have the third brake light. |

I think I can see CHMSL at the main picture... |

I agree, which makes the main one a 1986-1989 model. |
