The "custom" category is for the very heavily modified cars, nearly not recognizable. This one can still be listed as coupé (or convertible? :D)

It is actually a Corvette that has been pimped by the Derham Co. of New York.
ther ewas an article on Derham Customs in Hemmings Motr News a few years back
and all the Derham cars in that JB movie were mentioned.

It was already listed on the site actually: /vehicle_9665-Chevrolet-Corvette.html
(as "custom" this time, because it is not easy to guess it is based on a Corvette :D)
But the car looks different than the photos off-movie...

Correct. It's one of a rare few custom Chevrolet Corvette cars that wetre customized by Les DUNHAM [not Derham] of Boonton, NJ. This one was used in the James Bond movie. It was made to look like a pimped up Cadillac Eldorado and was named the "Corvorado". Read all about it on this page of the Cadillac Database (search under Dunham Coach):

www.car-nection.com/yann/Dbas_txt/Drm70-74.htm

The car does not fit the definition for that page (custom cars on Cadillac chassis), but it looked so much like an Eldorado, I just had to include it.

This film seemed to featured alot of 'pimped' cars in the early scenes filmed in Harlem - Cadillacs, this former Corvette, etc.. All are quite tacky if you ask me. ;)

We should move this one to the CVhevrolet "Corvette" section, or call it by its real name: "Corvorado".

is NOT Corvette based! It is an actual customized

Whisper's (Earl Jolly Brown) pimpmobile has a gadget, the wing mirror fires poison darts and there is a targeting screen in the dashboard. He uses this to kill Charlie, the driver of the car Bond is in, and it goes out of control.

Wikipedia is the most unreliable source in the world because anyone can change the information by clicking on the 'edit' link. So, an idiot can add a Toyota Prius to the Cadillac page and say it was made in 1905. Never ever ever ever EVER use Wikipedia as your source!!!

You're wrong about that actually, Wikipedia is one of the best sources for info on the Interenet. It is constantly being monitored by thousands of site members and if anyone changes information to something nonsensical like that it is immideately fixed. Entries can even be "locked" to prevent vandals from changing it. I wish people would stop making these uninformed assumptions about wikipedia and get their facts straight before saying things like "it's unreliable becuase anyone can change it" since that is very, very wrong.

And also think that Wikipedia's content is verified by more people than the content of some book. So errors may be found and especially corrected more easily.

Actually I can tell that it's based on a Corvette by looking at the doors and the dashboard, The C3 Corvettes had a large speedometer & tachometer in front of the driver, There were 3 smaller gauges for fuel, engine temperature, alternator and oil pressure on the console in front of the shift lever, I'm guessing that this Corvorado probably has the Turbo Hydramatic automatic transmission and is powered by a 454 big block V8 with either a 4 barrel Holley or Quadrajet carburetor.

Listing as Dunham Coach Corvorado is much better. Because nearly none of the outside parts are from a Corvette, we list step vans (like Boyertowns, for instance) get listed by the body maker, not the chassis maker...So, it would be obvious to do the same here...wrenchhead even disagreed on this being listed by the chassis make (AC Cobra) so we listed it as ''Made for Movie Mercedes-Benz SSK'' /vehicle_105674-Made-for-Movie-Mercedes-Benz-SSK.html so here we should list as make: Dunham Coach, model: Corvarado.
