1963 is the date on the "Carte grise" (vehicle registration card): also Plymouth "Type 17 - 118", unless that's fake too. |

This car was owned by Jean-Pierre Melville himself who used it as his personal car. It also appeared in his "Un Flic" (1972) film in a similar role: /v057184.html The carte grise above is definitely fake. Note the "28 CV" tax rating - these cars were unaffordable for ordinary citizens even second-hand due to the extremely high road taxes (28 CV did cost around 2,500 Euros, which is a lot of money even today) levied on large-displacement engines. -- Last edit: 2023-01-19 14:42:24 |
