I'm surprised that most 3rd gen Integra's that is listed on IMCDB are the 3-door model rather than the sedan. Figured it would been the other way around. -- Last edit: 2023-04-29 02:28:12 |

i guess it depends of the market , here the sales were so low for the sedan that it got replaced by an Acuratized Civic which was a far better commercial success |

Most Integras were sold in the US, and the 3-door was the popular model as it was primarily marketed as a hot hatch coupe. The junior luxury sedan market was just starting to grow during this generation in the US. When the 4th gen models were released, Acura changed focus and tried to move upmarket and the TSX sedan got more focus than the 3-door RSX. |

Same in native Japan. The 3-door DC2s were far more popular than the 4-doors. |

Interesting, any other example where the 2/3-door models outsells it's 4/5-door twin? IIRC, Honda only sold the 3rd gen as a sedan over here. -- Last edit: 2023-04-29 19:07:51 |

Yes, the sedan was very rare for the 2nd generation North American Ford Escort. Most were 3/5 door hatchbacks or wagon type.. |

In Europe - Americans would have been licking their fingers - we only got the Type R, as a Honda of course. January 1998 - May 2001. |

we got that too, as an Acura but in small quantities Link to "www.roadandtrack.com" ( one of them sadly features in a music video here.. ) -- Last edit: 2023-04-29 19:16:23 |

I should also note that I am biased, as I had two Integras, a green 1997 LS coupe replaced by a 2001 ruby red LS coupe. Most cars from the 1960s-1970s, when coupe was king. I guess your looking for more recent history, it took a while but the BMW E30 sold more 2-door models in the US than the 4-door, it wasn't until the E36 when the 4-door took over. As for the Escort, the 3-door was the best selling, but the 4-door outsold the 5-door and wagon. -- Last edit: 2023-04-29 19:43:29 |

One rare model you got in Canada that didn't make it to the states was the first gen Integra 4-door sedan. We only had 3/5-doors. |
