DynaMike ◊ 2008-06-04 23:51	Good question... I guess both names are used, but strictly speaking 'Traction' means already 'being pulled', hence front wheel drive. Rear wheel drive is called 'propulsion' ('being bushed'), not 'traction arrière' (except that Citroën used 'Traction arrière' in some advertising for rear wheel drive cars after the launch of the 'Traction', for those who were frightened by that new technology...). The Traction shown here is a postwar 11 BL (small body, new wheels, aluminium mudguards on the fenders), but for sure the colour is not original.

Good question... I guess both names are used, but strictly speaking 'Traction' means already 'being pulled', hence front wheel drive. Rear wheel drive is called 'propulsion' ('being bushed'), not 'traction arrière' (except that Citroën used 'Traction arrière' in some advertising for rear wheel drive cars after the launch of the 'Traction', for those who were frightened by that new technology...).
