No, born as Stoewer This is either the 'leichter geländegängiger Personenkraftwagen' (Kfz.1) or the outwardly similar 'leichter Meßtruppkraftwagen' (Kfz.3). They, together with the sightly different Kfz.2 and Kfz.4 used the unified chassis (Einheits-Fahrgestell I für leichten Personenkraftwagen) and body, while the engines, lubrication and electrical components were make specifically either by the parentage company Stoewer (R 180 Spezial (1936-38), R 200 Spezial (1938-49), Typ 40 (1940-43)) or by Hanomag (Typ 20 B (1937-40)) or BMW (Typ 325 (1937-40)). Until 1940 this chassis used a four-wheel-steering. As details are too blurred to tell exactly who made this vehicle, I will choose the version of which most were made: Stoewer Typ 40 (1940-43). |
