Curiously, this Hudson displays a 1935 convex grille however the center-dash windshield opener is a 1934 only mechanism. Also the all black horn button on the steering wheel was employed on 1934 models. In photos I can not make out any trim on the hood sides which '35 models had and thus have to assume the painted hood ventilation doors of the 1934 Hudson hood are there. Since the film dates from 1936, I believe this is a 1934 Hudson 8 convertible which has had a visual update consisting of installation of the 1935 grille and shell assembly which would have been a simple bolt-on proposition and not uncommon among unscrupulous used car dealers for many decades! |
