Shiny hubcaps, side trim smells MG to me, which as 4 door means Mk1. One unexpected Swiss permutation I'd love to find one day is an Austin America. The story goes that about 72-73 Leyland pulled the America from US sales, but had loads of unsold examples - presumably both 2dr and 4dr as both existed in final years - which were quietly diverted to CH and possibly Benelux to clear them. This one doesn't look America - wrong side trim and wheels, no headrests - so the search continues ... |

I felt in love with an Austin America i saw on sale in San Pedro (Los Angeles area) in 2002. It was painted in one of my favotire colours, Peageant blue. In the previous two or three years I had occasion to meet more than once a very well keot Austin America in a sort of medium red (Flamenco ?) stationing in Powell Street in San Francisco. I have both the pictures but made by a traditional camera before the digital era, but if you are interested I could meke the picture of both with my phone and put in this site if you wish. |
