If we follow Alexanders advice on VAZ cars, and I agree with him on that, this would be the designation for a Lada in Finland, with modelcode in brackets. I don´t think Finland used the VAZ name like we did in Sweden, but I´m not sure. In Sweden we used the VAZ brand up til 1980 because in swedish Lada means Barn, and for some reason the marketing department didn´t consider that a good idea ![]() With the introduction of the Lada 2105, even we used the Lada brand. After all, these cars are more or less like farming vehicles... |

So that one /vehicle_16334-VAZ-Lada-21043-2104-1993.html shoud be listed only as VAZ, without "Lada"? |

No, it´s so new that it should be Lada 2104 1.5 [21043] 2104 is the modelnumber, on the car, and the 21043 is the more complete chassiscode. The Lada brand is used from 1981 in Sweden. -- Last edit: 2006-01-07 23:36:29 |

Actually 21043 is the model, since it depends on the motor. 2104 is the body. |

They are not labeled that way, on the car you can read Lada 2104 1.5 The code for that is 21043 |

Yes you are right, I mixed the columns of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VAZ#Models in my memory ![]() But the 21043 is the model code, not what we called the "chassis code" (body) |

For a swedish car the modelname is 2104, we never had any names on these cars. Like Nova on some markets. 21043 has to go in the chassisfield here, like 2101 on the finnish Lada 1200. |

... or 21011 or 21013 or 21016, that's why at first we used the 4-digit codes ![]() |
