This would have been the name given to the Super Minx, if Rootes had not decided to continue the production of the old style Minx as well as the new model. Thus the Minx went straight from Series IIIC in 1963 to Series V (fins deleted, flatter rear window, 1725cc engine, plainer grille) and the Super Minx was an addition to the range. The car in the picture has the tailfins that were added on the series IIIA and appears to have the "1600" badges on the front doors below the quarterlights which would make it a Series IIIC. Thus it would be "Hillman Minx Series IIIC 1961 to 1963"
busman ◊ 2008-06-17 20:15	This looks more like a series 11 minx, note earlier grille with small round indicator/side lights and lack of rear fin over rear wing.
Sunbar ◊ 2009-06-19 15:03	... agreed round sidelights so not series IIIa or later. Series II would have sidelights slightly in-board from this so its the first Series III.
