This car looks strange - it has newer front end but no rear side windows..

Ok, so Polonezes for export were fitted with this end before those for inside market were even fitted with mere rear side windows? Hm.. I'm asking because although the car was so common I still can't figure out which details and liftings come in what exact time, also which belonged to what version.

Since 1985, for export, two front ends were used - this one (for better versions) and old one (for the cheaper ones).
Since 1986, mostly for export (but to meet also here), body with 3rd side window was produced. In (and since) 1986 two types of the rear wings were in use - ones with the old, "L" shaped strips, and different ones with the new, straight plastic trim. Logically would be, that the new wings were in cars with new 3rd side windows (as it was one part of the body), but it is not so obvious, I have seen Polonez without rear-side windows, but with the new shape of wings next to wheel arc...

Finally in 1987, the car with this longer nose, 3rd side window and new, 1987, boot lid became the main model also in Poland (production of the old body was still continued for some time).
In 1988 the front was modified a bit (it is nearly not visible at first glance, but it is inclined at an opposite angle - more "streamlined") and new front badge was intro.
In 1989, as you know, I belive, the completly new rear end was introduced and from more notable things, the front wings repeaters have been moved closer to doors.

I think I'm sure of everything since 1989, but before it was more mixed up than I thought.. (one detail more - since 1988 new FSO badge, more flat)
