2008-05-13 06:40 | I disagree. The distinctive feature of the Imperial 80 from its introduction sometime in 1926 through to sometime in 1928 was its scalloped radiator and hood (bonnet) top panels. along with bullet-shaped headlights and the winged mascot. None of these are visible on this car. I am not sure yet just what it is. I first thought Chrysler 70 but it is too long to be that and I don't think the 70 used that style of sidelights on the cowl. More research? |
2008-05-13 08:14 | It is a Locomobile Junior Eight sedan. I think it was introduced sometime in 1925 and ran through to 1927. It was an attempt by Billy Durant, who owned Locomobile at the time, to widen the company's market. The big Model 48 sold for over $7000 whereas the Junior was only $1785 for an open tourer and a bit over $2000 for a sedan. It used a small ohv straight eight of about 200 cubic inches. http://www.1motormart.com/gallery/26loco01.jpg -- Last edit: 2008-05-13 08:15:49 |
