Meyers Manx or something less-well-known?

The logo is wrong (Meyers was shield-shaped) and the rear is too square for a Meyers (compare this 1965 Manx and this 1968 Manx).

I messed around with the Buggy ID on Dune Buggy Archives and didn't get a match for this one's features: http://www.dunebuggyarchives.com/decision-tree/BuggyId/? Some come close, but again that square rear is unusual.

"Valley Buggy Hqd @ Van Nuys" - Is Valley Buggy a rental company or a manufacturer? Real or fictional? Van Nuys is inland in the San Fernando Valley, so not necessarily prime location for a dune buggy rental company, but does have a manufacturing history (General Motors used to have a factory there). Whoever Valley Buggy was, they're gone without a trace.

Could be a Dune Runner, the logo looks similar:

The rear is also a close match for Dune Runner and for Safari, but neither brand typically had smooth hoods like this one.
