I guess the yellow truck is a FNM model (Fábrica Nacional de Motores). http://img.quebarato.com.br/photos/big/B/C/213BC_1.jpg |

Were FNM trucks original designs or licenced from another manufacturer? This one reminds me rather of an old Italian truck. |

Yes Gag, The FNM (Fábrica Nacional de Motores or National Factory of Motors in english) was founded in 1942 to produce airplanes engines. Then the company began to manufacture tractors, automobiles, refrigerators and trucks. The first truck model was the italian Isotta Franschini, with the name FNM R-80, later D 7.300 in Brasil. The second contract was signed with Alfa Romeu. I guess the tuck of this pic is a FNM D-11000. Look that (in portuguese): http://www.defesa.ufjf.br/fts/Caminh%F5es%20FNM.pdf -- Last edit: 2008-04-25 19:00:59 |
