This is the first car used by the character "Mrs. Amanda King," played by actress Kate Jackson. It's a Cream & Wood 1983 Ford LTD Country Squire Station Wagon. She later used a Cream & Wood 1985 Oldsmobile Cutlass-Ciera Cruiser Station Wagon, and finally a Cream & Wood 1986 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. I've researched each of these cars and pretty much know the dates, models, etc...are accurate. I've not been able to find pics of the Oldsmobile or the Jeep...so I could only provide a pic of the Ford Wagon. It seems that "Ford LTD Country Squire" is rather a full-sized vehicle (like /vehicles.php?make=ford&model=ltd+country+squire ). I am no authority on these vehicles, but is "Wagon" really a part of the model name /vehicles_make-Ford_model-LTD+Wagon.html ? -- Last edit: 2008-04-18 19:26:43 |

I researched this vehicle when trying to find what exact model the car Mrs. King drove was. I found it in an actual Ford book, that covered all Ford vehicles from the 1980's. The one I found was actually an exact model of the one from the show--being the Cream & Wood color and all! This car pictured above is a 1983 LTD Country Squire Ford Station Wagon. I know that there were full size Ford Wagons from the same year but I believe they are a different model called "LTD Crown Victoria Country Squire." The "Scarecrow" car is not the "LTD Crown Vic" model--just a plain LTD. Whatever the case, I stand by my picture and model information I've stated above. I found out that Ford had at least 3 different station wagons that had the Country Squire model available--Country Squire meaning the wood trim on the sides. They had the full sized LTD Crown Victoria (as pictured in the "Miami Vice" section), the smaller sized plain LTD (as used in "Scarecrow and Mrs. King" and my picture above), and also an even smaller one...the Ford Escort Country Squire Station Wagon. -- Last edit: 2008-04-21 23:35:56 |

On March 9th the complete first season of "Scarecrow and Mrs. King" was finally officially released to DVD!  The car pictured above fit the character of "Amanda King" (at least during 1st season)...but man I hate those small "dorky" box-sized Fords and Mercurys from the late 70's and early 80's!  They were so boxy and ugly!  .I was glad later when she changed up to an Oldsmobile station wagon instead! -- Last edit: 2010-04-10 07:23:43 |
