Carriage, Motor, 75mm Gun,T12 (Autocar)..developed 1941 it was the first "self propelled" gun to be used by the US Army in WW2, first being used in the Pacific era..there is an urban myth that these were made using obsolete WW1 French guns, but its not the case.

Wasn't the company that made them White or something like that?

As TJ said above it is an Autocar T12 75mm GMC M3 (1941) (GMC = Gun Motor Carriage).

Not obsolete, but US made versions of the French 'Matériel de 75mm Mle 1897' named 'M1897A4', later 'M2A2' and 'M2A3'.

Isn't "75mm GMC" info about the gun rather than the vehicle? (so shouldn't it be in extra info rather than model name?)

Only "75mm G" as "MC" stands for Motor Carriage ... :D

This term is used as a kind of model name. Military names are always a bit cumbersome. I would keep it like that.
