mrcadillac ◊ 2008-03-21 22:07	This one is definitely a 1930-31 Cadillac Series 452/452A V-16. It is the most common body style of the 3251 engine-chassis combinations built. Fleetwood made 501 style 4375-S sedans and 438 style 4375 limousines; together, these account for almost one-third of 1930-31 V-16 production. Standard wheel equipment on the V-16 models were five hickory wheels with demountable rim, as seen here, including only one, rear-mounted spare. I agree with Pilou in that few cars were thus equipped; I have only seen one in 40 years! Most buyers spent a little extra for the stylish Buffalo wire wheels and the dual, fender-mounted spares. All the V-12s are easily recognizable as they have a single chrome "spear" on the body sill, on either side of the running board lamp. There are three different sill designs for the V-16 models; the one seen here is the most common (all Fleetwood styles designated by initial numerals "41" and "43").
