The brazilian Chevies are generally Opel-based cars since 1968, when GM introduced the Opala, an Opel Rekord-based Chevrolet with the same 6 cyl Bel Air engine (it apears in 'Cidade de Deus' [City of God]). Curiously, only the brazilian Chevrolets have a different badge on the grille, a Chevy bow tie in a chrome rim, a variation of the 'Opel Blitz', except to the latest Chevrolet Omega imported from Australia (named Holden Commodore in that market), pickups and SUVs, they have a grille similar to the american Chevies. |
