Same one, also in 1970-ish Italian film?? And maybe here and here???

... and here and here and here and here and here and maybe this one as well???

All I've been doing is looking at P5s in films with Italian-sounding titles, but looks like we've got a serial offender in Italian 1970s films - note the Italian side indicators not usually fitted to P5s - which might be traceable?? Possible also that it was originally black here and here (which both have double front sidelights so same car, although different from the other sightings)??

Roma B14864 is a October/November 1967 plate, so if the black one is the exact same car could have had a different plate as in 1965 and 1967 movies (maybe it could have been repainted when transferred). It also has an hire car plaque in some of its sightings. That plate currently gives no results, at least on my app.

I’ve had grass to cut, dogs to walk, car insurance to arrange and some shopping to do. Life must go on! It’s amazing how the grass has continued growing this year, got to clean and disinfect my greenhouse and planters next.

I’ll try to see how many PVs went to Italy when I next come up for air, but if anyone knows, please carry on.

Proposing to tidy up all the sightings (apart from the 2 black ones) as 1967, but would be useful to agree added info before going ahead - is it Mulliner, Park Ward or Mulliner Park Ward??

robgeelen2 wrote 1959-62 Rolls-Royce Phantom V Limousine by Park Ward des.980

is mentioned on a couple of the pages.

The answer to that is - it depends. I’ll get back on this.

“The last H J Mulliner Phantom V was delivered in January 1962”

Coachwork on Rolls-Royce and Bentley by James Taylor pub. Herridge and Sons

See: - https://www.wakuimuseum.com/en/cars/1960RRPhantom5navyRenew.html

Further -

Park Ward design #980: “The first production example was on chassis 5AS5, and was displayed on the R-R stand at Earl’s Court in 1959. (Octoberish each year) Last (numerically) attributed to Park Ward alone was 5LBX100 delivered Oct 1961, last delivered was 5LBX96 in Feb 62.” Same source.

Further further -

“In 1961 R-R merged HJM with its PW coach building subsidiary to create (- wait for it)

“HJ Mulliner, Park Ward Ltd”, (sic)

Link to "www.worthpoint.com"

and moved the entire operation into the Park Ward works at Willesden. M,PW built coachwork exclusively for R-R and B chassis, initially using designs from the two formerly separate companies. BODIES BUILT BY THE MERGED CONCERN NEVERTHELESS CONTINUED TO CARRY THE BUILDER’S PLATE OF THEIR “DESIGN PARENT” UNTIL WELL INTO 1963” (my uppercase). Same source.

And still there is more -

“There is an interesting history behind the coachbuilders H.J. Mulliner and Park Ward, both of whom were acquired by Rolls-Royce; Park Ward shortly before WWII and H.J. Mulliner towards the end of these fifties. Both were finally to be merged into one company H.J. Mulliner, Park Ward in 1961; after some time had passed the simpler term Mulliner Park Ward became used; in the end the rubber mats to protect the carpets only showed the pressed-in letters "MPW".”
(From http://www.rrab.com/mpw.htm)

So, as I said, it depends, and, in reference to the comma after “Mulliner”, now you see it, now you don’t.

From a look at the linked picture, my original choice was wrong and it’s a Park Ward. It’s a pity that some politicians can’t admit to having so been.

Phantom V by Park Ward, not Mulliner’s.

Can that be applied to all the other sightings as well??

Please change this one to Park Ward, how you might extrapolate to the others is completely beyond me. I would only believe pictures of the chassis number of each image where it is etched into the frame.

Might as well go for it. If batching them up attracts more attention and/or better information, they can be adjusted as needed.

More probable sightings here, here, here , here, and here.
