Did they actually share press tools with Luton or Dunstable? There is such a marked resemblance to a Bedford J that it seems very likely. |

Not the actual pressings but the domestic GM-USA drawings were modified and adapted for the UK to fit the Bedford Chassis dimensions for the A and D-Type truck which preceded the J-type. Starting in 1948 Luton Engineering Department had to minimise the design time, as the Bedford S-type (plus all the Vauxhall car design) were being prioritised. -- Last edit: 2021-12-26 14:28:34 |
