Is that "Consul" script?

Yes, its a 1956-62 Ford (UK) Consul 204E. The six cylinder models (Zephyr/Zodiac) had a different shape of grille and bonnet.

'The Three Graces' (= collective names for the Mk2 Consul, Zephyr and Zodiac) got an upgrade for MY 1959.
They flattered the roof with 1 inch, and because of that got the inoffical name 'Low Line'. However, it's quite difficult to spot that, and instead one can look for a number of other things, like chromed head light surrounds and stainless steel around the front and rear window. The interior also got another facia and the upholstery got changed.

Conclusion: this is actually a 1959+ Consul.

I hope you will not be offended if I mention that they “flattened” the roofline, flattered is a bit different!

Thank you for correcting my mistakes! I'm constantly trying to learn the language and I appreciate everything you write.

Thank you for this, it’s a bit sensitive because foreign languages are not something I can do properly. Not many people use Latin.

That makes me impressed! I believe proper education included latin. But, alas, not for me, I'm only an engineer (mechanical).

None of that, I went to an old style English Grammar School and we all had to study Latin. I've forgotten most of it, except the church stuff.

Add-ons, but car looks like a Low-line as built, IMO the add-ons ruin the smart design of the original body. I think the longer bonnet actually favours to looks of the six cylinder cars.

You're telling me! I don't mind when old cars are haphazardly made to run with 70s accessory parts like:

but when you add cheap modern supermarket hubs and mirrors it just looks awful.

Triangular hole wheels make any car look good and racy - even a 30s Steyr:

And….don’t get me going on the subject of those ridiculous jacked up rear springs.

Speaking of cars, I'm ultra-conservative. The original design is made like this for some reason and the tuning obsession of some destroys classic cars ... It should be forbidden to add tacky accessories to these jewels ... Imagine a Stradivarius with gold appliques
