Top speed on that car? It really depends on the gearing in the rearend. I actually have a 73 Road Runner with a hot small-block in it (400hp), and when I still had the 2.70 gears in the rear, 140 was NOOOO problem. Of course, at 140, on Z-rated low profile modern tires, but old, rickety worn-out suspension, I was scared. The car swayed like hell. Daisy's car in the series is a big-block (they show the engine of that car in the episode called "Daisy's Song"), either a 400 or 440, so it probably had the 3.55 Sure-Grip rear, so theoretically, taking into account engine RPM and redline limit, the car would probably max out at 120-130. If it had the 2.70 rear like my car, 140-150 completely topped out would be possible. God I hate being a car-guy. I read WAY to much into movie and TV stuff like that.

No problem, I deleted your double entry, BTW if it had 4.88 gears, it wouldnt see 100mph unless the motor could wind up to 9000rpm's. :D

With 4.88s, a big-block, and no overdrive, that car's top speed would be 80-90 Mph, maybe a little more, but not much, but it would sure as hell get there quick. Redline on a stock Mopar big-block is only around 6200-6500...

My first car (as pictured) was a (as titled) a 1973 Road Runner. It had an optional 383 block in it with the slap stick tranny. I got it up to 130 before I lost my wits. The suspention was not good and the front end started to lift and I was losing steering so I backed off. Some of the best fun I ever had. Launching in 1st gear could ALMOST lift the front wheels. I blew the motor at the local drag strip on "Run what ya brung" night. I sold the car for $500 bucks. I regret that day.

there was an episode of the dukes from the 4th season titled "goodbye general lee" in which bo and luke trade in the general lee on a tan 73 roadrunner that is most likely one of the cars daisy had and WB repainted it. there was another one used in the season 5 ep "new dukes" which is driven by coy and vance and is destroyed by the mean green machine (and then they of course start using general lee) that one was blue

Did Daisy have another car before this one that had a sun motif (SunRunner?)on the c pillar instead of the roadrunner bird?
I think that car went over a cliff. Did you ever notice on the dukes when they were driving a dodge or plymouth
Police car over a cliff the car that actually fell was an AMC matador or a model similar to the Dodge brand. Says
little for the AMC brands of the time.

this is probably correct as listed ('74). wikipedia does list "daisy's car" as a '72 - but the car in that picture is not a '72. i don't know the differences between the '73 and the '74...

Daisy's car was originally a 73-74 roadrunner but they started using 71-72 cars during the later part of the first season or early in the second season. The car that went off the cliff was a 71-72 car and at the end of that ep is when daisy gets the jeep.

The Roadrunner at the top of the page is a 73.
The differences between 73 and 74: The 74 had chrome trim around the fender wells and chrome turn signal lights on top of the front fenders. The 73 had no chrome trim on the fenders and did not have any turn signal lights on top of the fenders. Both years had the two bumper pads on the front and rear bumpers used for pushing or being pushed. The 73 was rubber on the front with a chrome back half that attached to the bumper. The 74 was all rubber.

I love this car--my second favorite car used in "Dukes of Hazzard"...second only to the General Lee! I was disappointed when after a few episodes in first season this Roadrunner disappears and the Satellite is used instead. However, the Satellite was okay too--I think you were supposed to think it was still the Roadrunner as it was painted identically as this one. I was greatly upset and disappointed when the Satellite was destroyed and the Jeep became Daisy's vehicle. :/ :(

It think its a '74 due to the front seat belts (but they could've used '73s as well)
