This is an early Silver Ghost - possibly as early as 1907. Hopefully someone has the registration record. Whatever the location, it looks fairly bleak. |

This is a 1909 car, chassis number 60798. A Roi-des-Belges body by Barker with nickel fittings. It was used as the 2nd Monte Carlo trials car by R-R, then after sold to it's first owner Cecil Hanbury, London; then to Sir Edgar Boehm, Bart; and last known with W. Jackson in Harrogate May 1919. In this picture taken at Leysdown, Isle of Sheppy, 4th May 1909, Charles Rolls is driving with Orville Wright sat next to him, man sat on floor is T.O.Smith, Rolls's personal driver, and Wilbur Wright is in the back. |
