A GT40 was used as a camera car for the film. |

How cool to arrive at Le Mans in the road going version of the race car, albeit a few years after the GT40s stopped competing at Le Mans... |

As a road car would probably be Mk3 - 7 factory prototypes built, finishing with chassis P/1107. -- Last edit: 2012-05-22 22:32:23 |

It's a Mk I, more than likely a street version, but definitely not a Mk III. The Mk III had a different front end with double head light lamps and an extended rear to house a luggage trunk. There were street versions of the Mk I, with essentially a detuned race 289. -- Last edit: 2014-03-14 17:19:38 |

It was chassis [P/1074], originally built as a lightweight John Wyer Mirage (chassis M1/10003) in January 1967 after the official end of the GT40 programme - Link to "www.hemmings.com" , http://gt40.net/gt40-chassis-numbers/gt40-p1074/ .
