Are you sure this is a C-klasse?
The taillights look right, but the angle of the rear glass looks too steep. Also, the trunk looks too small; and there is no antenna at the top of the glass.

Kiwi-spec Ford Mondeo, maybe? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Mondeo_(second_generation)

shape of the rear door doesn't seems to fit either... Australian car ? ( Holden or Ford Australia product )

I don't think it's a Ford Mondeo either. The taillights have a similar pattern, but the Mondeo's lights jut out farther down the side of the car than this vehicle. Also, the shape of the door is off.

Its something Corolla sized I think. Too small to be a Falcon/Commodore

marioman is correct. It's a 2000-04 Corolla [E120]. Maybe Made for J if this was filmed in NZ?

any special version ? i find a lot of Corolla i never heard of but can't find any with those specific tail lights ( unless aftermarket ? )

Those are genuine... in fact I did some more digging and those tail lights in fact narrow it down to Sept 2002 to April 2004.

It may not be a "Made for Japan" model.

Here's one I found for sale, looks like a NZ model with the same taillights:

but none has that fine red line on the clear part
( this said, i found only one, with a russian plate that did not fit that well... )

found a few here

checking this out.. looks like those tail lights are only with the 1.5 engine...
or is it only a year matter ?

I Carjam'd that Corolla's plate and it showed that it had Japanese VINs.

I found 2 Corollas in the NZ gallery of Platesmania with that tail lights and both had post-import VINs that would be issued for Japanese cars which don't have the 17-digit VINs.
